Mammography is a safe, low-dose X-ray picture of the breast that facilitates the early detection of breast cancer. In screening mammograms, images of each breast are taken from two angles. A diagnostic mammogram requires more angles and is used in special circumstances, such as with breast implants, or in cases where there is specific concern. [read more]

Ultrasound is a safe and painless diagnostic procedure that bounces high-frequency sound waves off internal organs or structures and captures the returning “echoes” as images. There is no injection or radiation exposure associated with ultrasound studies. [read more]
